This pattern has been designed for 2 different weights of yarn, fingering or bulky!
I LOVE dragons and have studied/tested Barbara Walker’s Strawberry pattern until I came up with a version of my own to mimic my favourite winged reptile.
3D dragon scales cover both raglan sleeves which meet in the centre back of this shrug.
Sleeves are knit in the round until the armhole, then worked back and forth to the centre back seam and grafted together to complete. A ribbed edging encircles the neck, sleeve fronts and bottom back to create a shawl collar.
Charts and knitting instructions.

I know, I know, it's been a super long time since I've last posted, that's because real life got in the way. I have published 3 new designs in the meantime:
Fangorn - I really wanted to design a sweater with cables that reminded me of tree bark and of course honour Tolkien at the same time. :-)
Pretty Pat - a pretty little cosmetic bag named after my beautiful good friend Pat

Shiny and New!
Finally, I've updated the website, take a peek at Needle Beetle!
It's been awhile since I've done such a major overhaul but I hope you all appreciate the new squeaky clean look and have more fun snooping around.
Within the next few weeks I plan to offer 3 new free patterns as well as a new cable pullover design. Stay tuned for updates and thanks for visiting!

Howlite
This is my current knitting project, not my design, but definitely my knitting.
:-)
Love how it's turning out and am on to sleeve #2.
You can find this pattern by Heather Dixon at www.armyofknitters.com
I love the intricacy, the collar, the sleeves, the cables. It was too pretty not to knit it.

wow, time flies
Sorry, no pics for this one, but I promise, cross my fingers that eventually I will find time to be "more timely" with my posts. Aarggh, life really does get in the way, but it's all good.
2 new designs are in the works, I've had a hankering to design something with a fantasy theme in sock yarn, and that is in the works, as well as a lacy top with Clea #10 crochet cotton. Tiny stitches makes for a happy Needle Beetle. :-)
